Thank you for visiting my website.
I hope it gives you the information you need. Please contact me or Kelly at Amukelani Counselling with any queries you may have.
As a person centred counsellor, my approach
is to provide a quiet, non-judgemental and confidential space in which you can
explore issues which concern you. These could include relationship issues with
friends, family or work colleagues; recent or past bereavements; low self
esteem; dealing with stresses in or around you; difficulties related to
unhappiness in childhood or as an adult; self harm; depression;
anger; anxiety, panic attacks.
There may be times that, while family and
friends are there, you can feel isolated or unsure how to move forward. You
may fell ‘stuck’ and not know how to deal with a difficult issue. You may be
unhappy for no apparent reason. In a therapeutic environment I would offer you
the opportunity to explore whatever concerns you may have and help you to find
a way to achieve a better understanding of yourself, your feelings, thoughts and experiences.
My role is not to give advice or tell you
what to do, but to help you make choices which may lead to more understanding, contentment or fulfilment in your life.
My main approach is person centred which can be either short and long term work. I may integrate other therapies when appropriate which could include, for example, brief solution focused therapy or play/creative therapy depending on the age of client and issues involved.
My main private work is at home but other venues are possible for children and young people.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).
I have Professional Liability Insurance.
I am CRB checked
